Self introductions tomorrow! Take "The Kevin Quiz"

^^ I have self introductions in 4 classes tomorrow. The students taking the quiz will be first year and have only been studying Japanese a few months. The introduction will be in the form of a gambling game. I will start by passing out photos and paraphenelia that correspond to the questions that will be on the quiz. The students will be divided into groups of 5 or 6 each. Each group starts with 10 points and they can bet points on each question. In the end the team with the most points will win stickers.

I now invite you take "The Kevin Quiz". XD You won't get hints, and no stickers either... well maybe stickers and a postcard. I know some of these questions are too hard for 1rst year students, and in that case the teacher will help.

Here they are! *Note* 2 Questions have multiple correct answers*

1)I am from the US. What state am I from?
A) Texas B) Arkansas C) Tennessee D) Mississippi

2) How big is my family?
A) 7 B) 3 C) 5 6) D

3) What is my pet?
A) Beetle (XD That is the new fad thing in Japan now for young boys) B) Cat C) Fish D) Bird

4) How old am I?
A) 21 B) 23 C) 27 D) 25

5) Where did I stay in Japan before?
A) Tokyo B) Akita C) Osaka D) Hospital

6) Where did I go?
A) Thailand B) Australia C) France D) Russia

7) What club was I in in junior high?
A) Baseball B) Band C) Chorus D) Boy Scouts

8) What is my favorite sport to do?
A) Rock Climbing B) Hiking C) Camping D) Bicycle Riding

9) What is famous in Chattanooga
A) Big Buildings B) Sports Team C) Me D) Coke Bottle

10) What is my favorite Japanese Food?
A) Ramen B) Takoyaki C) Sushi D) Melon Bread

Good luck!

In other news I got a package from my parents. It had an assortment of many of the things I asked for, unfortunately a lot of what I asked for was not included. :/ No Bebop, No Escaflowne, No Kenshin... and none of my music CDs... oh well I'll have to have them send another package... speaking of other packages... >o< STILL NO LAPTOP! RARGH.

Oh, this past Saturday was the school festival. I expected something like you see in anime where all the clubs have a display and they try to recruit new members and raise money. As it turns out, junior high festivals are more along the lines of club talent shows. I watched the baton twirling club, Japanese dance team, chorus, and brass band clubs all perform on stage. The brass band in particular was amazing, they were better than my HIGH school band. I was quite pleased by the anime medley they played that was primarily ghibli music. XD They also played the, "Hey, Hey, Heey, Hey Heeey!" Song from "Water Boys". I'll have to compliment the band director tomorrow.

Walking outside with all the kids was weird. I here "KeBIN" popping up all around me... it is like some sort of freaky sonar. Tomorrow I'll finally start formally meeting the kids in class... 9o9; dear lord, I've got OVER 900 STUDENTS... and they expect me to learn their names... oye.

Again... 9o9; Expect pictures when I finally get my laptop!

Oh one more thing... XD I got ahold of abut a billion VHS tapes some previous JET left here. XD It is almost pure gold. There are episodes of Teen Titans, Batman, Batman Beyond, Justice League, Buffy, Angel, Gilmore Girls, and Smallville. XD While I can see the silly appeal of Buffy, Angel falls flat to me... and Smallville... 9o9; pff. Anyway these tapes are tiding me over nicely while I await my real computer and DVDs.

Decent score... 9o9;

Technically I'm from Mississippi. I was born in Starkville while my dad was getting his Master's Degree. However, I accept Mississippi, Tennessee, or Arkansas. XD In my heart of hearts though, I do feel like I'm from Arkansas. Chattanooga was the first place Coco-Cola was bottled, and sushi is my favorite out of those listed. I chose sushi because it was one of my favorites and I didn't list the other foods that I also really liked. Yakisoba and chicken cheese katsu would definitely vie with sushi as my favorite Japanese food. 9o9; I also forgot that technically ramen is Chinese so I replaced it with soba. Gyoza is also Chinese.

:/ I wish I could do something to improve your situation hon. Do you have your personal statement saved? I could email it to her.

Re: Decent score... 9o9;

Eh... I don't really consider the gyoza Chinese, since they don't call it gyoza in China, it's just sorta appropriated. :/ But that's a yessir on the ramen.

And Kevin, noone loves you. Noone will comment on your journal but me o_o Try to have more exciting and/or sexy exploits.

I figured it was.

^^ Good job. I'm sorta from Mississippi, Arkansas, and Tennessee. According to my JET application I'm representing Tennessee, but I was born in Mississippi. I was only there for about 5 months before my dad got his master's degree and took a job in Arkansas. I was there until my senior year in high school... so I feel like Arkansas is my home. For 5, answers "B) Akita" and "D) Hospital" were both right. XD The kids are generally impressed by the screws in my arm. For question 8, camping has been my favorite thing to do in the last few years, but in high school I liked rock climbing most and have been going to a climbing gym here in Nara. I look forward to doing some real climbing soon... and of the food choices listed in 10, I like sushi best. I also love yakisoba and there was a restuarant that made "Chiken Chizu Katsu" in Akita that was my single favorite dish in Japan.

*huggle* what are you up too these days?
